ShareCrew documentation

ShareCrew runs a creator program on your WooCommerce store: each creator gets a link and, if you want, a discount code; the orders they send are credited to them; and they earn a percentage of each order's profit — worked out from your own cost data, not from revenue.

What it does

  • Credits orders by a typed code, a referral link, WooCommerce's own order-attribution data, a repeat-customer lock, or your manual assignment — exactly one creator per order. See Links, codes and tracking.
  • Works out each commission from a breakdown: the price paid, minus product cost, shipping, packaging, payment fee and any gift, with the source of every figure recorded. A product with no known cost holds the commission rather than counting the cost as zero. See Costs and profit.
  • Keeps the books: commissions mature after your return window, refunds adjust or claw back, and every correction is a new row rather than an edit. See Commissions.
  • Prepares payouts: a monthly run, a PayPal CSV and a bank-transfer CSV, WooCommerce store credit, and a numbered statement per creator. See Payouts and statements.
  • Gives creators their own portal inside your store's My Account page: their code, links, earnings, payouts and profile. See The creator portal.

What it does not do

These belong at the top, because each is a reasonable thing to assume about a plugin in this category.

  • It does not pay anyone. ShareCrew connects to no payment processor. It builds the payout files and issues store credit; you upload the file to PayPal or your bank and send the money yourself, then mark the payout paid.
  • It does not handle tax. It records what each creator was paid on a numbered statement carrying your self-billing and VAT wording. It does not calculate, withhold or file any tax, and it does not decide whether a creator is a business or an employee.
  • It does not credit every sale. In the default tracking mode, a link sets its cookie only after the visitor gives marketing consent, and in code-only mode it sets none at all. An order with no code, no link, no attribution data and no lock is credited to nobody.
  • It does not stop coupon abuse. A daily check flags a code whose use looks unusual, for you to review. A flag changes nothing on its own.
  • It does not decide your legal posture. Whether ShareCrew may set a marketing cookie is a choice you make on setup.

It is not an affiliate network, an influencer CRM, a content-approval tool or a customer refer-a-friend scheme.

Requirements

  • WooCommerce 8.5 or newer, active. It is the only plugin ShareCrew needs.
  • WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer.
  • WooCommerce 10.3 or newer is recommended, so ShareCrew can read WooCommerce's own cost of goods field. On an older WooCommerce it works from a cost field, a category margin or a default margin you set.
  • Pretty permalinks, for the /go/ links.

ShareCrew is compatible with WooCommerce's High-Performance Order Storage and with block-based checkout.

It is free, and runs on your site

ShareCrew is free: no licence, no account and no plan. ShareCrew has no service of its own. Everything it computes runs on your site against your WooCommerce data, and the only request it makes is a daily check of your own site's /go/_probe address — see Privacy.
