Crawlune measures how legible, accessible and quotable your site is to AI answer engines — and shows you the pages that are hardest for one to use.

What Crawlune cannot tell you

This belongs at the top rather than in a FAQ, because it is the thing most easily misunderstood about this category of plugin.

Crawlune cannot tell you whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude or Google's AI Overviews will cite your site, and it will never claim to. Nobody can measure that from inside WordPress. No plugin can, whatever its marketing says.

What Crawlune measures is your content: whether a page opens with a self-contained answer somebody could lift, whether it cites outside sources, whether it contains the specific figures that get quoted verbatim, whether an AI crawler is even allowed to read it, and whether the page declares structured data at all. Those are properties of your pages, they are measurable, and they are what the published research on generative-engine optimisation points at.

A better score means your content is more extractable. It does not mean you were cited, and Crawlune will not tell you it does.

The four things it covers

• Crawler access. Which AI crawlers can read your site, and what blocking one actually costs you.
• A machine-readable summary. An llms.txt file describing your site, published in one click.
• Extractability. A per-page score with every component shown, and a work-list of the pages that score worst.
• Structured-data coverage. Which types your pages already declare and who is emitting them — and a complete graph filled in where nothing else provides one, without fighting the SEO plugin already emitting some.

It is not an SEO plugin

Titles, meta descriptions and image alt text are Metaly's subject. Sitemaps, redirects and canonical URLs belong to Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress. Crawlune does not replace any of them and works alongside all of them.

Most of it is free

The audit, the report, the crawler controls and llms.txt are unmetered and work with no licence. A licence buys the rewriting described under Improving pages.
