SnippetGrove documentation

SnippetGrove finds the pages on your site with no SEO title or meta description, and the images with no alt text, and fills them in bulk — writing into the SEO plugin you already run.

It is not an SEO plugin

This is the most important thing on this page. Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress own your sitemaps, your redirects, your schema and the meta box under your editor. SnippetGrove does not replace any of that and does not want to. It writes into their fields, using their own storage, so everything you have configured keeps working and everything you have already written is left alone.

Metadata written into an SEO plugin stays in that plugin when you deactivate SnippetGrove. Image alt text stays in WordPress. If you use SnippetGrove without an SEO plugin, its saved metadata remains, but SnippetGrove must be active to render those tags.

What it does

  • Counts what is missing. Published content with no SEO title or meta description, broken down by post type, and images with no alt text. Free, unmetered, and it works with no licence at all.
  • Writes the missing ones in bulk. Choose a post type and the fields you want, see what it will cost before anything is sent, then read every suggestion beside what the field holds now and approve the ones you want.
  • Undoes a whole run. Every write is journalled before it happens. Undo restores the previous values where it is safe to do so, preserving later edits and newer runs.

What it deliberately does not do

  • Nothing is written without you reading it. There is no auto-apply, on any plan. A run stops at review and waits.
  • It does not overwrite by default. A field with something in it is left alone unless you explicitly ask, and even then it asks again before starting.
  • It does not claim to get you cited by AI answer engines. That is not measurable from inside WordPress. If that is your question, it is Crawlune's subject, not this one.

Where to start

Getting started takes about five minutes and ends with a real number for your site.
